Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 30, 2026

1. Who we are

The Crash is developed and published by PERFECTCIRCLE SRL, a company incorporated in Romania (EU). Our registered address is Bulevardul Ion Mihalache 106, Bucharest, 011202, Romania. When this policy says "we", "us", or "our", it means PERFECTCIRCLE SRL.

This policy covers the marketing website at playthecrash.com and the single-player game The Crash. It does not cover third-party platforms (such as Steam) that have their own privacy policies.

2. Data we collect on this website

The playthecrash.com website collects no personally identifiable information. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no cookies placed on your device.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site. This service is cookieless and privacy-first — it records anonymous, aggregated metrics (page views, country-level geography, device type, browser, and referrer) without storing or transmitting any data that could identify you personally. No IP addresses are retained.

3. Steam and third-party platforms

The Crash is distributed through Steam, operated by Valve Corporation. When you wishlist, purchase, or play the game through Steam, Valve processes your data under their own Privacy Policy . We receive only aggregated, anonymised sales and wishlist data from Valve — we never receive your Steam account details, payment information, or email address.

4. Game data and save files

The Crash is a single-player game. All gameplay progress is stored locally on your device and, if you have Steam Cloud enabled, synchronised to Valve's servers under Steam's own privacy policy. We do not collect, transmit, or process any gameplay data on our own servers. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no analytics inside the game.

5. Online leaderboards

The game includes optional Steam leaderboards for end-of-run scores. If you submit a score, your Steam display name and score are visible to other players via the Steam platform. Leaderboard data is managed entirely by Steam — we have no access to the underlying account data.

6. Cookies

This website does not use cookies. Vercel Web Analytics does not set cookies or use browser fingerprinting. If you visit a Steam page linked from this site, Steam may set cookies subject to their own policy.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Because PERFECTCIRCLE SRL is established in Romania, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. Since we collect no personal data through this website or the game, most GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are not applicable in practice. If you have a question or concern, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

For data processed by Steam on our behalf, please contact Valve directly or refer to Steam's privacy policy.

8. Data retention

Vercel Analytics stores anonymised, aggregated metrics. There is no retention of personal data on our side because no personal data is collected.

9. Children's privacy

The Crash is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our data practices change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site or game after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
